THE UNICAL SUG ELECTION COAX

WHT REALLY HAPPENED

3 students were shot by the school security during the SUG election in the University Of Calabar . The incident occurred at about 3pm when the election was rounding up. This happened when the security men were trying to calm the crowd down shortly after the CUECO (Calabar University Electoral Commission) officials announced that the election is coming to an end when a good number of student that came out to vote were yet to.

There was a misunderstanding between the students and the security in attempt to hold down the students as the CUECO board were leaving the election ground. The bullet hit the 1^st victim on lower abdomen, 2^nd victim was hit on the chin while the last person was hit on arm.

Shortly after, the police invaded NAT (New Arts Auditorium) where students were protesting and injured 2 students, Mr Etim an SUG presidential aspirant last year on the wrist and Mr Tony a final year student got a huge cut behind his head.

The Vice Chancellor UNICAL addressed the crowd after the incident and apologized for the misconduct of the security as it was said to be a misfire. The election has been cancelled and all the injured victims are currently being hospitalized.
