    TALKING DEEP

A LETTER FROM YOUR FUTURE SPOUSE

Have you ever posted one of those letter on Facebook that says something like “dear future wife” or “dear future husband? Well, if you have ever written one of those, then I think the reply to your letters just arrived.

    Dear spouse,
I received all your long letters, and I smile every time I read through them, especially the part where you said you can’t wait for us to meet. I think about you too just as much, it’s kind of crazy in a way, isn’t it? To think of how much we think about each other, even though we haven’t met yet. Am just wondering where you are too, and who you are with at the moment.

I must confess that it’s encouraging to see the qualities you are hoping that I possess. I looked through your list and I realized that those thing you wish to find in me are the exact same things I hope to see in you too. It’s easy for people to think through the list of qualities they desire in a future mate, without also taking the time to work those same things out in their own life. Am working on me, and i pray that you’re working on you too.

But at this point I want to be honest with you, I get a little fearful when I read all your letters filled with so much hope and expectations of me. You know we cannot always get exactly what we want, there are some requirements we’ll never get to satisfy when we finally meet. So dear, I suggest that the best way to get our expectations right is by using this time we have apart to work on ourselves and on our relationship with God. In him all our expectations, purpose and values can be met without any struggle, and then any love we have to give each other will just be a bonus.

Hey! I know that there will be many others that will come your way, prettier, sexier and even more handsome than you have pictured of me, but all am asking is that you hold out and be patient, recognizing me will not be too difficult, all you need to do is wait for the one who has worked hard for you, wait for the one who has prayed for you, respected you, and honored you. Don’t settle for anything less, we owe it to each other to choose well. Please keep your eyes open for me. And I too will do the same for you.

You are in my heart, and you are in my prayers.
    I’ll see you soon.
